Incident: Vehicle explosion on the Rainbow Bridge between the US and Canada

Law Enforcement is reporting a vehicle crashed and exploded on the Rainbow bridge between the U.S. and Canada.  The Rainbow Bridge is a “passenger vehicle only” crossing and does not allow commercial vehicles.  The bridge is near Buffalow New York and Niagra Falls.

The commercial vehicle crossing in the area, Lewiston-Queenston Bridge, is reported to be open with normal delays.

This event has the potential to increase border wait times for the next several days for commercial vehicles as levels of security will likely be increased at all US/Canada border crossings

Overhaul recommends that shippers make drivers crossing between the U.S. and Canada be aware of increased security and likely longer wait times.
